Dr. Douglas Mushi is an Environmental Microbiologist currently employed by the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania at the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CONAS), Department of Biosciences. As a Senior Lecturer, Mushi lectures on Environmental Microbiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervises their theses. His research interest is in understanding the role of water in the spread and control of water-related diseases. To realize this interest, his area of research focuses on Health-Related Water Microbiology, Microbial Source Tracking, Microbial Ecology of aquatic systems, and Pollution Microbiology. The outputs from his research work are anticipated to formulate relevant policies responsible for protecting human health and aquatic environments.
