Ms. Clara Yona Mwasota is a Tutorial Assistant in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the Department of Biosciences, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Tanzania. Mwasota received her Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Laboratory Sciences and Master of Philosophy in Molecular Biology/Virology at the Sokoine University of Agriculture. Currently, she works as a Tutorial Assistant in biological-related subjects and conducts research on biotechnology and epidemiology of viral epidemics at the Sokoine University of Agriculture. She is also affiliated with the UNESCO Chair on Ecohydrology and Transboundary Water Management. Her research interests and expertise include molecular biology, biotechnology, epidemiology, and ecohydrology. Her current research projects include the ”Epidemiology of viral epidemics for livelihoods and nutritional security of small-scale farmers and fishing communities”, and ”Improvement and assessment of landscape use/change influence on threats of zoonoses using a One Health Approach”. The current research projects are funded by the Sokoine University of Agriculture Research and Innovation Support (SUARIS).
