Master of Chemistry by Research and Thesis
A candidate for admission into Master by Research and Thesis shall hold a Upper  Second class Bachelor of Science with Education, Bachelor degree in Education where Chemistry was one of the subjects, Bachelor degree in Chemistry, or equivalent (such as Pharmacy, Environmental Chemistry, Natural Products) from SUA or any relevant University around the globe, with a GPA of at least 3.5.

OR

A bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minimum GPA of at least 2.7 and research experience of at least three years. An applicant will be considered to have acquired research experience when he/she has published at least one paper in SUA recognized journals or one paper in conference proceedings or has attended training on grant proposal writing or research methodology or data analysis.

 

Other important descriptions from SUA regulations

To qualify for an award of a master’s degree by Research and Thesis, the candidate shall accumulate a minimum of 180 credits. Research proposal, research competence and thesis shall account for 15, 45 and 120 credits, respectively.

This program allows a student to attend some relevant courses as extra to build capacity on specific theoretical knowledge in Chemistry.
