SUA Students Shine in Huawei ICT Academy Competition 2024-2025

Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) continues to demonstrate excellence in the technology sphere as 13 of its students successfully passed the preliminary exams of the prestigious Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 and advanced to the national stage. A total of 15 students participated in the competition and 13 advanced to the national stage. This global competition, designed for students in Huawei ICT academies and higher education institutions worldwide, provides an exceptional platform for participants to showcase their skills, exchange innovative ideas, and deepen their knowledge in cutting-edge technologies.

The success of SUA students in the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 is attributed to the dedicated leadership and mentorship of the university’s coordination team, which includes Prof. Camilius Sanga, Dr. Alcardo Alex Barakabitze, and Dr. Michael Mahenge, the Head of the Department of Informatics and Information Technology.

The competition features three tracks namely: Cloud, Network, and Computing where participants tackle real-world ICT challenges using Huawei’s advanced technological tools and platforms. SUA’s representation in the national examination reflects the institution’s commitment to fostering talent and equipping students with practical ICT skills that align with global standards and market demands.
