Neema Simon Sumari (PhD) is a senior lecture in the Department of Informatics and Information Technology (DIIT), Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Computer Science from Alabama A&M University, Normal, Alabama, USA in the year of 2006 and 2011 respectively, and she received her Doctorate Engineering in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing-Wuhan University, China in 2020.
Her research interest includes spatial analysis with GIS and remote sensing applications, earth sciences and observation, land use studies, computer science, and software engineering. Dr. Sumari is motivated by geo-informatics information technology professional with strong leadership ability, effective interpersonal skills, and excellent programming habits and automatic documentation generation, using popular Microsoft tools, software, and hardware development. Sought by management for the ability to determine end-user needs and provide fitting solutions and services. Generate positive referrals and repeat business through superior service and follow-up.
She is also the Founder and Director of Aquila Eyes Group (AEG), member of International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), member of Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA), member of Advancing for Computing Machinery (ACM), member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), member of IEEE Education Society Membership, member of the Sokoine University of Agriculture Academic Staff Association (SUASA), association member of United Nations Association (UN).
