Ms. Joan Jonathan received an AWARD for the Best Oral Presenter and Research Paper at the 8th Annual National Science, Technology, and Innovation Conference and Exhibitions (STICE) 2023, which was held at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam and organized by COSTECH. The conference’s sub-theme was Innovation for Human Development. She is an SUA researcher who has received funding from SUARIS (first phase).
Science, Technology and Innovation Conference and Exhibitions (STICE) is a national and multi-sectoral event organized every year by Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH). The aim of STICE among others includes providing a platform for multi-stakeholders (policy makers, scientists, researchers, innovators, funders, development partners and industry players) to meet and exchanging information and experiences from Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) activities. This year it was held on 14TH – 16th June 2023 with a theme ‘Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development’ – “Sayansi, Teknolojia na Ubunifu kwa Maendeleo Endelevu”
Her paper presentation was titled “SmartTB: An Integrated Digital Patient-Centric Tool for Promoting Adherence to Treatment among People Living with TB in Tanzania”.
