Teaching and Learning Facilities

The Solomon Mahlangu Campus (SMC) formally the Solomon Mahlangu Freedom College (SOMAFCO) it harbors the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CoNAS) as well as the School of Education (SoE) of the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). The campus has a size of 1,050 ha that contains classrooms, lecture theaters, computer laboratories with the latest in computer technology and equipment, video conference laboratory, modern chemistry and Physics laboratories, library, dormitories and residential facilities, cafeterias, shops, and an auditorium known as “the Nelson Mandela Freedom Square (DOME)’’. The university holds its graduation ceremonies at the DOME every year. Most students of the undergraduate degree programs at SUA study and reside at SMC. These include those pursuing BSc. Degrees in Environmental Sciences and Management, Education, Information Technology, Agricultural economics and Agribusiness, Range Management, Applied Extension Education, Bachelor of Rural Development and Bachelor of Tourism Management.
